Garden Design Derby

Do you want a garden designed to your unique requirements? We can make your dream garden a reality. After an initial phone consultation, we do the following:
- Make a site visit to look at your garden as it is currently.
- During the visit we will ask you some questions, such as:
- Do you want a low-maintenance garden?
- Do you want a child-friendly garden that your children can play in, and make happy memories?
- How much time do you realistically want to spend maintaining your garden? Try to be honest about this as it will pay dividends for you in the long term (are you an avid gardener or do you like to spend as little time as possible doing the gardening?).
I will then go, and produce my design. All my designs are drawn from ink onto tracing paper, and then printed onto watercolour paper. I then fill the design with the colours you have chosen for your garden. I then present them to you, the client, and this design method always impresses my clients!

We have designed many different styles of gardens including:
- A Japanese garden – this style of garden uses plants such as evergreens, mosses, bamboo, acers, and Japanese maple. Japanese-style gardens should feel tranquil, and often incorporate existing features into the overall design, sometimes the scenery beyond the garden is incorporated into the design.
- A dry Los Angeles style garden – a dry garden is one in which drought-resistant plants are used. This reduces the need for watering. This type of garden is best suited to a garden or garden area that is south or west-facing, and does not get much shade.
- A woodland garden – this type of garden mimics a natural woodland area. Trees are planted (or existing trees are used). Shrubs and plants that naturally grow in woodland can be introduced. A mixture of evergreen and deciduous plants creates a garden that can be enjoyed all year round.
- A Peak District inspired garden for a very keen walker, and climber!
All our work is guaranteed for 10 years.
